Percolate your body with a cup of awakening Yoga By: Heather Yablonski

Start your day off with a cup of yoga.

Unlike coffee yoga won’t leave you with an energy low midway through your day. Starting your day with a deep stretch and a cleansing breath will prepare you for anything that may come your way. Deep energizing breaths help clear mental fog and stretching helps to lubricate your joints, awakening the muscles and avoiding potential stiffness in the body.
“People think we get energy from food and sleeping, but the breath is our most abundant source of energy. Breathing oxygenates the blood, improves circulation, and gets more oxygen into the muscles, which allows them to function better. Even though life can be complicated, the solution could be using your breath, basic movements, and a heightened sense of awareness to balance the physical body and mind with the spirit.” ~Gurutej Kauna
As a 6 am awakening yoga flow instructor, I see morning fatigue all of the time. Clients come in quiet and tired still longing for their soft pillow and warm blanket but they lay out their mats to oxygenate the body with the breath leaving radiated and full of energy ready to take on the day.
One of the many benefits of morning yoga is its calming effect on the nerves and ability to slow the heartbeat. Yoga also helps to stabilize your mood allowing a complete focus on your daily tasks, without being bogged down by stress and anxiety. On top of all of that yoga is an entire body workout that will increase your flexibility, tone your muscles and strengthen your core. When practicing yoga in the morning you are more likely to be disciplined with eating, often choosing healthier snacks.
So what are you waiting for? Percolate your cup of yoga for a fantastic start to the day.
